Tapestries, a pair of chair-covers, designed by Andrea Pallis in 1947.
Executed by Jill Vlasto, and in daily use on a pair of dining-chairs in Cambridge until 2001; then partially restored, and in daily use in Norfolk until 2023; they were removed from their chairs, fully restored, mounted and framed in 2024.
Both are now in separate private collections.
Additionally, in The Pallis/Vlasto Archive collection is Andrea Pallis’s draft design for one of these tapestries, on very small-squared paper. This was mounted and framed in 2025, and includes a letter of provenance in Andrea Pallis’ hand.
