Re-stretched and newly framed 2025. Approx. 40X50cm. On sale 2025/26 @ £200 Likely 1920s. This is probably the picture titled 'Japanese' which was exhibited at the Bloomsbury Gallery in 1938, when it was priced at 40 Guineas (£42.0s.0d)

Sold in 2025 - now in a private collection in Oxford Hope Allen was a scholar of the early English mystics.

This is probably Ned Belsen whose family lived next to Worts Mill (Sutton Mill) near Hickling.  Likely painted around 1925. In private collection, Cambridgeshire UK.   This picture is on the reverse of ‘Abiather Gibbs’.
